Pakistan’s athlete Abdul Rehman secured three medals at the 9th Senior South Asian Karate Championship held in Sri Lanka, while the Pakistani team clinched a total of 10 medals, including two gold, one silver, and seven bronze medals across various categories in Colombo on Sunday.
Abdul Rehman earned one medal in the Senior Kumite -55 kg category, another in the Senior Team Kumite event, and a third in the Senior Team Kata event, concluding the competition with an impressive tally of three medals.
Meanwhile, Young karateka Huzaifa Arshad claimed gold in the under-10 category, while Aiyana Noel secured another in under-12 kumite (40kg).
Areesha Nadeem earned one silver and two bronze medals in the under-21 (50kg) category. Sairish Tassaduq won bronze in individual and team kata with Samrah Ijaz. Hasnain Jamil impressed with three bronze medals in kumite and kata (75kg), boosting Pakistan’s overall medal count.
