As part of enhanced security arrangements for Muharram, authorities have announced the suspension of mobile phone services in Peshawar on the 9th and 10th of Muharram to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
According to a police spokesperson, mobile services will be partially suspended starting today (8th Muharram) after Friday prayers and will remain unavailable until 10:00 PM on Ashura night (Sunday).
The measure has been taken to bolster security along the routes of religious processions and to improve surveillance in sensitive areas.
In addition to the mobile service suspension, security agencies will monitor processions through drone cameras, CCTV networks, and other advanced surveillance technologies.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement personnel and to follow official instructions during the holy days.
