President Asif Ali Zardari has stated that steps need to be taken to bring Pakistan and Bangladesh closer, adding, “I belong to the generation that witnessed the separation of the two countries.”
In a statement, President Asif Ali Zardari said that the Bangladesh cricket team is visiting Pakistan as an ambassador, and the Pakistan cricket team has performed well in the recent series.
The President said that the Bangladesh cricket team is also displaying a high standard of play. “I belong to the generation that saw us separate; the current generation cannot understand the pain of separation. In any case, we must heal that pain.”
Asif Ali Zardari said that the Bengali nation was among the richest in the region. “Work needs to be done to bring Pakistan and Bangladesh closer. We must work for the welfare of the people of both countries and take joint steps that will lead to the prosperity of both nations.”
He stated that Bangladesh is recognized as a successful country in the world. “Just like Pakistan, Allah Almighty has blessed Bangladesh with resources. There are vast opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. The young generations of both nations need to strengthen mutual ties. Sports are an important means of building connections.”
