Three people lost their lives in separate road accidents in Karachi on Saturday, including an assistant professor at SZABIST who was crushed to death by a speeding dumper, according to police officials.
Professor Bhutto, a father of four, was affiliated with SZABIST University and also taught mathematics at Superior College in Shah Faisal Colony. He had left his residence in Gulshan-e-Hadeed early in the morning to attend college when he was hit near Daud Chowrangi. The trailer driver fled the scene following the incident.
In a separate accident in the Defence Housing Authority, a motorbike rider working for the Bykea ride-hailing service was killed when a sport utility vehicle struck him at the Khayaban-e-Nishat crossing. According to Deputy Inspector General South Syed Asad Raza, the rider sustained critical injuries and was transported to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where he later succumbed to his injuries.
In another fatal incident, a motorcyclist lost his life after being hit by a water tanker on Jam Sadiq Bridge in Qayyumabad. Korangi SHO Mohammed Ali Niazi stated that the victim was critically injured and taken to JPMC, where he was pronounced dead.
